Highlights

INTRODUCING THE INTERNET is a one- to three-hour workshop designed for trainers whose audience has heard about the "information superhighway" and wants to know what it's all about. It is written by an expert Internet trainer and includes his well-tested lectures, overhead transparencies, exercises, and handouts. It answers the pre-Internet user's questions: What is the Internet? What does it do? Why should I be interested in using it? How do I get connected?

You can use this book to prepare your own presentation to pre-internet users, or you can take parts of it to use as the introductory segment of a program that goes beyond internet basics. This book also contains a set of slides by another trainer who adapted the author's slides for her audience of medical specialists. The accompanying disks (Macintosh and Windows) contain the lecture in a text file (editable with any word processing program) and handouts and slides with a Power Point viewer file (you need not own Power Point to display, only to edit them if you so choose), so customizing any part of this presentation is easy. For convenience, the overheads and handouts are included on 8 1/2 by 11 pages in the book.
